When it rains, it pours!

A few weeks ago I discovered that my period was late. After taking a pregnancy test and sobbing on the bathroom floor that it was positive, I pulled myself together. I was not sure how far along I was. I figured that I was 3 weeks late, which put me at about 6-8 weeks along. Turns out with the ultrasound that I had today that I am really 13 weeks! Mike and I were very confused. I had to have gotten pregnant on birth control! The new baby is due on June 11th. Brona's birthday is June 9th!

Brona wants a baby brother. She regaled the ultrasound tech. with stories about how she was going to make her brothers her personal slaves, and that is why she wants a brother.

Mike is still on the job hunt, but does have an interview next week sometime we think.Christmas is coming and we have all of our Christmas crap out.

Finnegan better potty train fast! We set him up on youtube to watch some silly potty training videos. Nope, he loves his diapers. I am just going to have to send him to school with a diaper bag instead of a lunch box. I swear!

I keep telling myself that everything always works its self out. things may not be what you had in mind, but you make due with what you've got.

Finn is 4

We had a great weekend! Finnegan turned 4. He had a really great birthday. Went mini golfing and to the place that every 4 year old wants for dinner, McDonald's. He is such a little shit sometimes, but he is so funny and cute!  

Since Mike has been out of work I have enjoyed the fact that I have a job and that I get to get out of the house. If anything, that is what a job is good for.

It's Fall like.

I am brave or crazy? I decided that this is the year we are going to host a Halloween party for Brona's friends. It's going to be around 20 kids or so. I have been looking on the internet for some great kid party ideas. If any of you have an favorites it would be great for you to share them with me. I have found some good websites. I just haven't nailed anything down yet. I know everything will come together just fine. I have had a few moms ask if they can help.

Finn's birthday is on the 1st. My sweet baby boy is going to be 4! Time flies, when you are in crazy town. Finn of course wants a Thomas birthday party. I am so glad that my mother in law is great at making birthday cakes. We are going to get him a big boy bike. Brona and Finn love ridding bikes any time the front door opens.

Brona has passed off her addition facts at school! I am so proud of her. Now we are moving on to subtraction. I know she can do it!

The kids an I are going on a road trip in October. I cant wait! We are going to visit my folks! It will be a very long drive,but so worth it. We are going to go to the beach!

I am very close to getting into my exturnship for school. I hope I can get on at a clinic. That would be awesome. I would really like to work at a doctors office. I will keep all of you updated.

Never mind that job thing from the last post. It was a cruel joke. Son of a diddly. 

He got the job!

Husband is the new Associate Producer at EA! He totally nailed the interview. When I asked husband if he was excited he replied " I am more nervous to work at a big game studio, than I was going into the interview". He had been looking for work out of state too. I am so happy that we are going to stay in SLC.

Finn's potty training has completely come to a halt. He kicks, hits, and screams when we try to get him to go. I guess I will be going to kindergarten to change his diapers. Or, he can take a diaper bag instead of a backpack to school. I did manage to get a picture of him sitting on the potty. I like to take embarrassing pictures of the kids...blackmail for later. Or when Brona brings home a boyfriend....bwhahahaha.

Garden

I work in the yard when I can. I really enjoy too. I have been working on my first garden this year. In years past I have been in charge of the strawberries. I had so many I was making jam once a week. Mike is a really great gardener. This year I did it mostly by myself, with help from the kids of course. Working in the yard is like a kind of therapy to me. I love to grow pumpkins! Fall is my favorite time of year. Yes, I have a thing for lawn "art".

Mike had his job interview today! I hope that we find out very soon if he has the job or not.

We have been working on potty training with Finn. We haven't really had much happen, but farting. I guess that is good enough for now. I know it doesn't happen over night. He has been a trooper.

Brona has been doing well with her piano lessons. It almost makes me want to take guitar again. Hmmm maybe I should.

I love this fall cool weather stuff that is going on outside right now. I took a nice walk alone tonight, I was welcomed home with crying from the kids about why I didn't take them with me.  All I want is ten minutes. I got it, but may not be able to walk alone again.

I was chatting with a friend today and I was reminded that I really do love living in SLC. I really hope that Mike gets this job.

7 crazy days!

Last week Mike was laid off, 7 days later he has a job interview!!! We are all keeping our fingers crossed that he will get this job. He would be working for EA! Brona of course is so excited about it. She will make some geek proud one day. With that said, I hope that things will finally be on track. It always seems like Mike is laid off around the time of kids birthdays.

We had back to school nigh last week also. Brona loves her teacher. She is a great teacher as far as I can tell.. She comes home really happy. The teacher does this really cool thing, She picks genre books for the kids to read and write a report on. I think it's awesome. The class is reading 'Phantom Toll Booth'. I told her that I would get the book and read it with her.

I have been feeling a little nostalgic this week and I am missing some old friends. I just wanted to say the I love my friend Eric (Evil). He has been the greatest! I hope he reads this. Love you Evil! Thanks for being there when I need a friend, you are the greatest and the best! 

With September coming I am already planning my Halloween fun! This is my favorite time of year. I love fall. I have pumpkins growing. I am itching to get the Halloween things out. Oh Husband...pretty please.

School

It has been a pretty eventful few weeks. I finished school, Brona started school. Brona and I did the Zombie Walk together. We have been to Cowabunga Bay twice.

Finn is getting so big and his vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. I just wish we could get the kid to go on the potty. He has been a tough kids to raise.

Brona seems to like school so far, her teacher is a strict teacher. I am going accustom to the fact that my daughter is growing up. She has been turning into a little lady. Brona has been quite snippy and rude at times. She is getting older. She is like a 30 year old trapped in an 8 year old body.  I am trying to do the best I can with parenting. I don't know if I will ever get the hang of it. It is defiantly a blessing. It is the hardest, but most rewarding job I have ever had.

I forgot to pull anything for dinner...shit. Work was alright today. The kids were happy to see me. It was a super long day today.

I am over trying to grow my hair out!

Brona received a birthday invite form her cute friend today! She will be so happy. She loves getting mail. Alas, all the mail I get these days is bills. Even my email has been lackluster.

At school they want us to dress for success. Are you freaking kidding me. I am such a jeans and t-shirt girl, I don't even want to go shopping to buy something nice to wear.I don't even like to wear make up.

I feel so out of it today....

First Post

Yea, I am going to try a blog. I have nothing better to do, right? Okay, I have a ton of shit to do. I have a week of school left and I cant stand it. I don't even want to go. Almost done I suppose.

The kids are driving me crazy. I can't wait for Brona to go back to school. she is going into the 3rd grade! She is amazing! I love her so so much.


I am also having issues today with wanting another baby. Ugh. I hate babies. My ovaries are interrupting my normal flow. I think If I had another baby Finnegan would kill it....he lubs his mama.

Brona and I are going to go on the Zombie walk downtown on Sunday. I guess I will have to post pictures. Maybe this blog is going to be a way to vent about stupid crap. Who knows.
